Admission to Redcliffe Robins (3-4 years)

robins-mvmt-music9-sm

The popularity of our nursery means that parents are invited to visit Redcliffe to register a place for their child as soon as possible. We recommend that, where possible, children are registered before their first birthday. Places are then offered one year before entry in registration order. Unfortunately, registration cannot guarantee a place for September, but children can enter our nursery in January and April if places are available.

Children who are fully potty-trained are eligible to join the nursery the term they turn three years old. Once a place has been offered, it is secured by a £1,500 deposit, which is reimbursed from the final term’s fees. No further deposit is required for those children progressing from the Nursery (Robins) to Reception (Kingfishers).

Admission to Kingfishers (4-5 years)

2016 04 Redcliffe-107

Admission to Kingfishers is by informal assessment. Parents – including those of children attending Robins – are able to register their child at anytime, but they must be four by 1st September in the year of entry. Robins are given priority to external entry children on the registration list.

Assessments take place after the Autumn Half Term holiday in the academic year before entry into Kingfishers. Please speak to our Registrar for further information on timings and the assessment requirements. All assessments at Redcliffe are designed to be enjoyable and stress free events for children.

Internal entry: Robins’ assessments are carried out by the Head of Pre-Prep during normal lesson times, with parents informed of the outcome shortly after half term. Places are secured by the signing of an Acceptance Form with no further deposit required.

External entry: Children on our register will be invited to Redcliffe to join a Robins afternoon class and will be assessed in small groups of four to five. Assessments continue until all places in Kingfishers have been accepted. There is an opportunity for parents to speak to a member of the Senior Leadership Team during the assessment. Parents will be informed of the outcome within two weeks and places are secured by a deposit of £2,685, which will be deducted from the final term’s fees.

Fees for the Autumn Term are due on the 1st July, prior to entry into Kingfishers in September. All further fees will be due on the first day of term.

Unfortunately, all deposits, at any point of entry, are non-refundable should your child be withdrawn before entry to Redcliffe.

Admission to other classes

2016-04-redcliffe-379

Occasionally places become available in other year groups and parents at the top of the waiting list are offered these places following a simple assessment.

Your child would be invited to spend a morning/afternoon/day in school to join the year group and work alongside their classmates, with the teacher observing.  At that time parents will have an interview with the headmistress.

If a place is offered, acceptance follows the same criteria for admission to Kingfishers.

Redcliffe is a member of the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS). A recognised kitemark of quality, IAPS represents 600 of the world's leading prep schools.
